How My Home Became a Home
My grandmother, Wilma French lived with me and my three kids after suffering her 2nd stroke. As she aged her needs became greater. I needed to find a way that I could stay home and take care of her. I have worked in the nursing/EMS field for over 20 years and was working at a hospital in the Denver area. I decided to make some changes to my home and take in a couple more elderly ladies that would provide me with the income I needed to be able to work from home sort of speak. So I started Shana's Place Assisted Living. Now I have a CO state license and am Medicaid Certified with up to 5 beds. What started out as something small, is becoming Much Bigger in some not so big ways!
Our Mission & Values
Providing real loving care in a real home environment! This is where Real one on one care happens! I belive growing old, getting Alzheimer's or having a stroke doesn't mean your life is over. It just means some adjusments need to be made, and more assistance for needs to be given. Growing up, I was taught to treat others as I would like to be treated. I was also taught that being dedicated to doing the best work that I can do would always be rewarded and that has been true. My reward is seeing my residents continue to thrive well and enjoy the time they spend here with us. It is my pleasure to help residents achieve goals, be healthy and engaged in their own lives as well as the lives of others. Here at Shana's Place, NO one feels forgotten!
